ePower Charging System for Electric Ferry:
Operators of short distance eletric ferries choose our charging system to save fuel and reduce CO2 pollution. The closed tower design protects the system components against external influences and fits into the mooring area. As soon as the ferry approaches the rolling gates of the pantograph tower (country side) and the housing (ship side) open automatically.
Parallel to the docking of the ferry the loading station is activated by means of an onboard remote control. As soon as the ferry reaches its docking position the charging pantograph connects during seven seconds to the onboard contact bars and the loading of the battery starts. The charging system is able to compensate the tidal range and any movement of the ferry.
